Bird Observers Group

For many years the Bird Observers Group held monthly meetings with special topics and guest speakers a regular feature. It now meets at irregular intervals but has frequent field excursions such as regular bird surveys at the Epsom wastewater treatment plant. The group maintains a database of bird records for the area and cooperates with Birds Australia bird atlas project.

Like the Fauna Study Group, the Bird Group provides information and assists in local survey conducted for the City of Greater Bendigo, the Department of Sustainability and Environment and the Catchment Management Authority. The Bird Group also assists with school and public education projects.
