The primary aims of the Talbot Arts & Historical Museum are to:

• Preserve and display the history of the Talbot area


• Place special emphasis on the identified themes of historical significance


• Promote the study, appreciation and research of local and family history


• Provide facilities for the display, research and collection of local and family history items and documents


• Liaise with and assist all other recognised public museums and libraries in the promotion and preservation of local and family history.

The primary geographical area covered by the Museum

Activities and collections shall be roughly defined by a 20 kilometre radius centred on the Museum, including:

• Dunach
• Red Lion
• Amherst
• Burnbank
• Carralulup
• Bung Bong
• Clunes
