INGLEWOOD COURT HOUSE. This fine building of 1867, forms part of the HISTORIC PRECINCT, with the Hospital, St. Mary's Catholic Church, Presbytery, Convent (not Functioning), School, and the Railway Station. |
The Tivey House in Verdon Street was built by local merchant Joseph Tivey, a merchant, investor, Borough Councillor, and Mayor. It was built in 1881, and despite the ravages of time, is still the most imposing residence in Inglewood. |
'Jones' Eucalyptus Distillery, located on the Calder Highway is a powerful visual attractant for passer-by. The Grandfather of the present owner operated a distillery at Kingower in the 1890's, and established this one during the 20th century. As was common, the structure is built from materials readily available. |
