Swap Meet Cleanup Many thanks to the families who attended the Swap Meet cleanup in very hot and windy conditions to raise $550 for our Group. FundraisingOur Group is not required to run the sponge throw at the Paynting’s Nursery Christmas party this year. Cleaning & Mowing RosterThankyou to the families who have been fulfilling their roster duties, but please be reminded that the roster includes outdoor as well as indoor upkeep. Please check the roster for the coming months carefully. Group WebsitePlease return consent forms to the fees box ASAP so photographs can be incorporated into our website. It is unlikely that telephone numbers will be disclosed on the website, however if you do not wish to have your telephone number on the website, please indicate this on the form. Christmas Breakup
The Christmas Breakup will be held on Wednesday December 10 at the hall from 6:30pm. Sausages, bread and sauce will be supplied, soft drink will be available for $1 per can. Joeys and Scouts please bring a salad, Cubs and Venturers a sweet. BYO chairs, cutlery, plates etc (picnic gear). We look forward to seeing you there. Australia DayThe Australia Day Ceremony will be held on Monday January 26 at the Senior Citizens Rooms in Lockwood Road. The Official Ceremony starts at 8:45am, please be there in FULL UNIFORM at 8:30 ready for the breaking of the flag. A free celebratory breakfast is also available from 8:00am if you would like to attend. Newsletter ContributionsAll members are welcome to make contributions to the newsletter. Swap Meet CleanupThe Swap Meet Fundraiser is to be held ** THIS WEEKEND ** Sunday November 16 from 3pm. Please meet at the front entrance to the showgrounds (Holmes road). You will need to bring gloves, garbage bags, a hat, drink, sunscreen and if you like, a stick with the nail in the end (to pick up rubbish). Please attend to help raise $550 for the Group. There are a number of people, however, who have not returned their consent forms. Fundraising Helpers are required for the cattle shed cleanup after the Bendigo show at 9am on Sunday October 26th. Ask the family, neighbours and friends to bring a trailer or ute to remove and take home as much straw and manure as you want. Great mulch for the garden. Swap meet rubbish cleanup, Sunday November 16 meet approximately 3pm at the showground main gate. These two fundraisers are worth approximately $850 to our Group. Please contact Julie before October 5 if you can help out in any way. Our Group cannot afford to lose these opportunities, so please help us out. All details on meeting arrangements and what to bring will be advised closer to the date. Group LeaderOur Group is still in desperate need of a Group Leader. If you (or someone you know) would be willing to act as a liaison between the fabulous members of the Group Committee, Group Council and District Council please let a leader know. Remember we are all volunteers - every little bit helps. New UniformSoon in 2004, Scouts Australia will be introducing a new uniform. This uniform is expected to be available from Snowgum from mid-2004, but you can still wear the old uniform for the next five years as part of the changeover period.
